Bright Blue’s senior researcher Patrick Hall has a new article out in Prospect Magazine this week discussing the tensions between conservation and climate mitigation objectives.
Hall identifies a “conservation-climate dilemma”: while protection of ecosystems and biodiversity are crucial for climate mitigation, so too is the need to decarbonise economies through green energy technologies, many of which rely on extractive processes that may harm the environment.
