In his article, Patrick makes the case for a demand-led on-street chargepoint scheme, one of the policy recommendations put forward in Bright Blue’s latest report - Driving uptake: maturing the market for electric vehicles. Such a scheme would mean that EV drivers whose homes have no off-street parking are not constrained by a lack of charging infrastructure. Additionally, it would ensure that chargepoints are installed in locations where they are needed and will be utilised.
